Temporary peace is the second level of Taxing in the Genesis/Megadrive port of Lemmings.
Strategy[]
Build a zig-zag bridge to get to the log terrain above the entrance. Once the builder turns around and builds to the left, use a basher to cut the bridge so the remaining lemmings don't follow this builder. This is what "temporary peace" means in the level title, as this builder will build with the temporary peace of not needing to worry about other lemmings falling from the bridge. Ideally, the builder will shrug upon getting to the log terrain. Otherwise, you'll have to rebuild the bridge to free the remaining lemmings first.
Build to close the gap between the two pieces of log terrain, and bash across the very top of the level. If you bashed high enough, all you need is one miner to mine through the column of dirt to form a safe path to the exit from the basher's tunnel. Otherwise, if you didn't bash high enough, there will be an opening in the bottom of the basher's tunnel, from which the lemmings will splat. You can avoid this, by mining to walk down the bone, and using your remaining basher to bash through the column of dirt to the exit.
